High winds can damage trees and structures. Almost no structure can stand up to a tornado or strong winds, but there are a few things you can do ahead of time to lessen the damage and protect your family.
When high winds or tornadoes are in the area make sure to protect glass windows with plywood or other materials that can help keep them from breaking if debris hits them. Also make sure to keep trees trimmed around the structure to make sure if one is blown down it will not hit the building.
Sometimes even with all the precautions and preparations tornados and high winds still deliver a destructive blow to buildings. As soon as this damage occurs getting the structure secured and dry is of paramount importance.
