Water Damage DONT's
    1. Use your home vacuum, since electrical shock may result, as well as, certain damage to the equipment.
    2. Place newspaper in the traffic areas to walk on, since newspaper ink transfers easily to the wet carpet fibers and may result in permanent staining.
    3. Walk on carpet any more than necessary. This causes the water to migrate further.

More About Water Damage
Water damage is one of the most common reasons for insurance claims. Burst pipes, leaky appliances, and floods are just a few ways to find out the damage that water can do to a home or business. Water is the cause for most people to find out just how good of insurance coverage they have or…….don’t have.

The damage that water can do to the structure of a building is often hidden behind walls, behind cabinets, under carpets and in hidden areas. This hidden damage can manifest several weeks or even years after the loss occurs. Waters destructive tendencies create the need to handle these losses correctly and quickly.

The remediation process on a water loss should begin, if possible, before the 72 hour time clock. It is understood that it takes about 72 hours for most water related molds to germinate. This does not take into account bacteria and viruses that can grow much quicker. When water invades a building time is of the essence. The sooner the drying process can begin the more likely there will be a successful remediation without a lot of destructive processes. Proper remediation and drying techniques are the insurance every property owner has against the start of a mold contamination.

Certified Dry By DRT specializes in getting structures dry without destroying the building to do it. DRT has state of the art drying systems that will allow our team of certified professionals to dry a structure without even removing most carpet or carpet cushion. In fact carpet and carpet padding is usually the easiest thing in a building to dry. The water goes in easy and comes out easy. DRT is most concerned with those areas in a structure that are not as easy to access and dry. Wall cavities, cabinet voids, and sill plates on walls are of the most concern as these areas are the slowest and hardest to get dry. If

they are left with high moisture content then the building could have a fungal infestation at a later time.

DRT insures that these areas get dry by using state of the art testing, diagnostic, and imaging technology to guaranty that a structure is dry. The DRT Certified Dry program uses thermal imaging technology to visually show how the structure moves from wet to dry in a water loss situation. DRT is dedicated to being the only company you would want to dry your property. DRT can provide this Certified level of performance on anything from a small toilet overflow in a home to a large commercial catastrophe.

As is true with our entire specialty cleaning and drying services we provide all of our customers with a documentation package that will insure the most reimbursement that is possible for that loss. DRT has licensed insurance professionals on staff to help every client get through the maze of insurance paper work.

As soon as water gets somewhere it is not suppose to be call DRT immediately. With DRT you will be back to normal before you know it.
